Like many others, one of my sites got hacked through extcalendar. Everything is now up-to-date (a big thanks to everyone who worked to get the updates done so quickly) and my site seems to be surviving.
However, my host isn't happy. The site is still being hit repeatedly with attempted hacks which are now failing, but the error log for the site has grown to a stupid size - to the point where it's affecting server performance. Understandably, he doesn't want to babysit it and keep junking the log file when it grows too large.
Apart from finding a new host, does anyone have any suggestions or am I pretty well stuck until this spate of attacks abates?
Cheers,
John

Tell your host to pipe your logfile to /dev/null for a while... ;)

A good host should have known to do that anyways.

There is no big deal here, Joomla or any other script running on your site can and will be targeted by people looking for exploits. This is just part and parcel of what is required when you are in the hosting business.

As a site operator, however, you are probably responsible for keeping your own scripts updated, so I can (as a host myself) understand your hosts frustration at the fact that your failure to do that has cost them time....
