1.5.8 v 'Current'

On my older 'Joomla 1.5.8 site when I edited articles from the front page it showed me font's / colours insert tables etc but this later version of Joomla has just scrapped that... now I can't change colours / fonts I have to copy and paste from word, then I get all this gobble which I have to 'redelete' after I've published it!

I think the reason might lay in the fact that they updated the TinyMCE Editor to version 3.0. Not sure thought.
