Moving a misleading page

Looking for some guidance before making a change in the Wiki ...

This page (http://docs.joomla.org/How_to_create_a_modal_form_field) is quite misleading as it discusses a proposal for a new feature (adding JFormFieldModal) rather than explaining how developers can extend JFormField to create their own modal field.

The original author has not updated the page since 2010 and the proposal itself is still an open item on the feature tracker as of June 2011.

Seems to me we really should rename this page to reflect its proposal status and I'd like to be able to use the current title (How to create a modal form field) as a page that actually DOES inform developers of doing this.

What is the best way to go about this?

As a proposed feature that has not been added I think the page should probably be deleted. If the feature is added at some point the page can be reinstated and updated. If you have material that could replace it, as you suggest, that would be even better. What do you think?

Didn't feel comfortable deleting the page but maybe it could be moved to a category like "Feature Proposals" or some such and take out the links to other categories?

I did create a clear version at http://docs.joomla.org/How_to_create_a_ ... in_1.6/1.7 so developers will have some useful instructions.

Perhaps a redirect in http://docs.joomla.org/How_to_create_a_modal_form_field to http://docs.joomla.org/How_to_create_a_ ... in_1.6/1.7 would be a solution ?
