I've been trying to learn how to create a Joomla Module extension and have been reading through some of the Joomla Docs. I find it almost impossible to learn anything through the Joomla Docs. There is almost no use-case examples for the APIs and I can't find out what, where or when to use such APIs. I was reading the Documentation on how to display a list of Articles on a page (using a Module), and found it very difficult to find.

Is anyone here familiar with the Wordpress Function Reference guide? That is so easy to understand and learn from. Why can't Joomla display a list of functions and arguments associated with the functions and also some examples?

I don't know anything about the Framework of the two and I'm sure that I'm comparing apples to oranges, but why is it so difficult to find developer functions?

I agree. I've been using the two api-references, but find them both confusing. Why not just one?

I also miss examples with the code or some explanation. My solution is to search the joomla code and look for extensions which use the functions I'm interested in to see what they could do.
