Could someone please look at http://developer.joomla.org/development-status.html
It says that 2.5.4 is supported until December, 2013. But further down the page it says until September 2012.

It also describes 2.5 as standard support but is it not long term support ?

Hello there,

As I understand Joomla! 2.5 ends of the life by September 2012, i.e. no further 2.5.x release. The official support has still the effect until the December of 2013.
