We are still working on the params, the GPL issues have kept us busy in the last weeks and development has slowed down a bit. I hope to be able to pick things up again mid next week.

I too have been busy elsewhere (building joomla sites of course - http://www.air-management.co.uk), this was my first 1.5 test for a while. If you'd like some thoughts on how to present the global params within joomla back-end then let me know. Otherwise I'll keep quiet and keep an eye on the SVNs.

I will have a good look through this before any attempt at providing input. Are there also any documents or threads that detail, on a higher level, the heirachy and rational that parameters should follow when implemented? Something with the generic behaviour of, say, menus versus articles when it comes to which ones parameters overrides the other. If it is linked on the global review then apologies I have only skimmed it thus far.

Louis had explained the expected behaviour of the system in the following thread:

However, there were done some changes to component parameters the past week, and now there is a "Use Global" option at menu item parameters level too (so, the possibilities of the system are some different).
