I'm running the nightly build of Joomla 1.5 from a day or two ago and setting the global article preferences in the article manager doesn't seem to have any effect.  It's obviously saving the preferences somewhere, but all of my articles (all flagged to use the global settings for PDF, E-mail, Print icons) don't ever drop the icons if I shut them off.

You can see what I mean yourself by following these steps.

1. Visit the article manager and click Preferences
2. Change your preferences.  In my case, I switched the PDF, Print, and E-mail icons off.
3. Save the changes.
4. View your website.  Even though the global article preferences have been updated (which you can verify by editing them again) AND even though all of the articles are set to reference the global article setting, the icons are still showing on the front page.

Is this a bug?  Or am I missing something?

It only has influence on later articles. It does not change behaviour of already existing articles. They have to be changed one after the next ...

This is not the intended behaviour as I understnad it. It is probably a bug due to the work that has been going on in this area. See latest posts in the more global params thread I started. Work will resume later according to Johan...
