Hi Camera,

when you use jmint_v1.0.zip, everything is separated, so you need a Joomla, a Magento and the J!Mint modules. If you mess it up, you can still use demo.zip, this is an integrated demo package with all you need to start.

Check
http://jmint.info/joomla/about-joomla
and read the forum carefully, please.

Best regards Hans

Hi Anh,

hope you are fine, we haven't heard from you for a long time.

Well, something happened, so I thought its time to give you an update and ask for your advice.

I realized, at the same time with my live shop as with a test site, which I am using as a testbed and as a reference, that the backend login problem has vanished !!! :D

I couldn't believe it first, because it seemed as if J!Mint would have become intelligent and self - learing. Now I assume the following: I realized, that with each J!Mint reloading obviously some cURL/SOAP configuration files are loaded from a developer site or so , and one can see it sometimes , when I try to log into Magento backend from Joomla backend via J!Mint. May be just these cURL/SOAP config files were updated , so that now J!mint reloading works totally flawless ..

Well, anyway, thats a great developement ! 8)

But I have some minor problems left on my live site:

First problem is, that I don't use the J!mint shop page as my start page. That means , that all my modules, which are dependent from the J!Mint cache, are not updated, as long I don't reenter the J!Mint shop page, because the reloading of the J!Mint cache is obviously connected to that. You can imagine , that this is quite uncomfortable and needs to be adjusted some time in the future.

From the marketing point of view it is not desirable to start with the shop page, because we don't want to confront the customer with the products from the first moment on. We rather want to give a comprehensive introduction, with video and slideshows, and of course Joomla can do that much better than Magento...

Second problem is , that I failed several times to install a hierarchical order of the two Open Source systems, so that Joomla is in the root directory, and Magento becomes a subdirectory of Joomla. It would look much nicer in the URL paths, but for some reason I always failed... may be it is only a small mistake I made, I don't know ...

Well, I will try to solve these problems for myself, but if you could give me some advice, I would be extremely grateful :D

Best regards Hans

I've been looking for something like this, has anyone here tried this in magento's current 1.4.0.1 version? If so what has been the result? Has it worked with all of your extensions, and did you need to hack any code? I'm looking for this type of feature, but I'm really hesitant.

Hi cfhoods,

no sorry, still working on Magento 1.3.2.4. You can try it, but don't expect too much support.
Our chief developer doesn't answer on emails or PMs. May be I try upgrading to Magento 1.4.0.1.
in some months, then I could give you an update. But I tried upgrading once, and it crashed severly.

Is it possible for you to work on Magento 1.3.2.4. ??

Congrats to your Magento site. It just looks great ;)

Best regards Hans

Thanks for the info, I will keep an eye out on this thread to keep posted. I can't downgrade at the moment, but I'm not in a huge hurry so I'll just keep an eye out.

thanks!

I'd like to point out on how to fix the issue you may be having with any sorts of permissions.

Just simply add this line to:

Libraries/Joomla/User/Authorization.php

line 210:

$this->addACL( 'com_jmint', 'manage', 'users', 'super administrator' );
$this->addACL( 'com_jmint', 'manage', 'users', 'administrator' );

This should and more then likely solve your issues. :D

Best Regards,
Brandon.

Unfortunately my customer of the J!Mint website

http://mymufcake.de

has blocked the site temporarily due to legal reasons.
But the website is still existing on the server ...

You can take a look behind the curtain with :

Login : demo
Password: mymufcake
