I've created a table and I'm looking to create different background colors of the rows depending on whether breeds of dogs are good with children or not.

For example, for breeds that are ranked "Excellent","Great","Good","Tolerable", I'd like the rows to be GREEN (GO)

For breeds that are ranked "Recommended for Older Children", I'd like the rows to be yellow (CAUTION)

For breeds "Not Recommended", I'd like the rows to be Red (STOP)

For breeds where there is conflict (one expert says they are recommended for children and another expert say they are not recommended), I'd like the rows to be Gray

This site is our family site and we developed our own ranking system based on what we are looking for in a puppy and we want to help other people learn about different breeds. The site still requires much work but it is on its way.

I'm able to do many functions with PHP: connecting, running results, joining, but not able to figure out how to make the rows highlight.

Feel free to visit http://thebestdogsforkids.com/index.php ... &Itemid=84 to view the Top Dogs List for Kids

One of the ways could be to assign classes to the cells/rows and define the class properties in the css entries.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I'm pretty fresh with this so I'll do some research on how to set up classes and define them.

I appreciate your help.
