I have designed a new Joomla administrator template, however there is one feature of the template that requires a new page within the administrator area, however I'm not quite sure what way to go about it.

I basically need to create a page very similar to cpanel.php (which is the first page normally seen after logging into the admin area - however this is an additional page (i have already extensively adapted cpanel.php for the new admin template but now i just need an additional page with slightly different features).

If i modify this cpanel.php and call it cpanel2.php for instance, then i cannot gain access to it - "Restricted Access" is displayed if i try to point directly to it. I can create an admin component and easily modify that page, however i cannot get it to pull in admin modules for some reason (are admin modules not capable of being shown within admin components? - any how this isnt the way i would like to go about it if i can help it).

Obviously one important caveat is that this new page should be secure and not open to exploits if possible.
