They would be if I knew how to get them into the group.

Hi Joe,

I think you only need to join the group. Shouldn't be complicated. You also can tag them with Joomla!DayToronto or Joomla!Day2007 and then we can find them.

Many thx

Alex

Flicker is all new to me since I haven't been on it until the other day. I tried to figure out how to join the group but missed it somehow.

I'll give it another go so look for them later tonight, I have company coming over and have to get ready for them.

Hey JoeJoomla  8) -

To Join the Joomla! Group:
  • When you are logged on to Flickr, select the Menu Option Groups, followed by Search for a Group.
  • Then, type in Joomla! in the Search for box and press the Search button.
  • The first result listed should be the Joomla! group. Click the Title of that item.
  • On the following page, click the » Join this group? link.
  • Then, agree to the rules by pressing the OK button.
  • Then, you are in the Group!  8)
To share photos with the group:
  • Go to the photo you want to share - or to the set of photos you want to share
  • Press the Share with Group link above the photos.
Can't wait to see more of the Toronto Joomla! Day. Thanks for your article.
Amy :)

Thanks so much for sharing those snaps, Joe. I'll tell you, though, it's always going to be shocking to see you as Clark Kent, absent the cape and de-tighted.  ;)

It looks like you all enjoyed a great event in Toronto. That is fabulous!
Amy :)

guysmiley,

Thanks for your participation at the Joomla!Day Toronto Event.  We hope that it will be a yearly event and that the Greater Toronto Joomla! Community will want to plan other gatherings throughout the year.

I'd like to echo thanks to Michelle and Levis who came from out of the country Smiley (j/k) to be at Joomla! Day Toronto [/quote

Hehe. We actually live in the same country, just a different city and language. Quebec City.

Anyone planning on visiting Quebec City on holidays are welcome to visit us. (It doesn't hurt for you to brush up on your high school French.  It will go along ways)

It was great working with Jason, Ian and of course Lévis in preparing the Joomla! Day.  We were especially happy to meet all who participated.  It was great to discuss Joomla! and to learn about your involvement with the software and project.

Both Jason and Ian did a great job giving their presentations on 1.5 and Setting Up a Joomla! Website.  Thank you both.

Can someone post the agenda which took place on this day? I'd like to get an idea how to put together a series of events in Chicago which will be most effective for the people we've got signed up as interested parties.

Thank you.

Last year this event was more like a mini Joomla!Day. The event was 3 hours long. We had two presentations: the first one was creating a web site with 1.5 and the second was a discussion about 1.5. This was a more technical discussion. We also had a discussion and answer period.

This past year, we did not call this event Joomla!Day, but rather a "Birds of a Feather" event. This term comes from the expression "Birds of a Feather Flock Together". Its format was a presentation of Joomla! 1.5 plus a discussion period. This event lasted about 2 hours as this was the time-span that the IT360 organizers allowed to get the room free.

Hi Elizabeth,

The best way to keep in touch with the Joomla! User Group Toronto is to get on their mailing list or visit their site often.

I've been asked a couple of questions about the upcoming JoomlaTraining.com beginner day (June 24) in conjunction with the Toronto User group...

1. We're not affiliated. JoomlaTraining.com is HQ'd in Atlanta... But I grew up in Toronto (out in Scarborough) - even though I live in Cincinnati now - I'm still Canadian eh!

2. We'd love to support any effort of the user group! - including sending new members to the group after the training - we'll be promoting the group at the event.

3. Joomlatraining.com is a two day event - beginner on the 24th, intermediate on the 25th. You can see the details at http://www.joomlatraining.com/toronto

Hopefully that will clear things up.

Rod
