Post by JAlfonso » Tue Dec 01, 2009 12:56 pm

Team Name: Ontic Soluciones

City: Toledo

Country: Spain

Preminary date selection: May 2011

Organizing Committee:

Ontic Soluciones (http://www.ontic.es) is and ICT company based on a free software business model with several years experience organizing technical events such floss conferences and meetings, and since 2005 "Party Quijote", a LAN Party which congregates 600 participants and several thousands visitors for 4 days in cities from Castilla-La Mancha (http://www.partyquijote.com).

Team members:

Alejandro Navarro, Alfonso Moratalla and Ricardo Monsalve. Founders and CEO's of Ontic Soluciones.

We also have a collaborators network integrate with 50 people with technical skills and experienced on carrying events with our company.

As venue we propose the "Palacio de Congresos de Toledo" (Toledo congress building) that will open its doors on 2010 first quarter, placed in center town, it have auditorium for 1225 people, a main room for 500 people (divisible in 3), six more rooms for about 300 people each one, 3 halls for expositors, restaurant area for 1000 people and parking for 600 cars. Entire building (3 floors) are fully accesible with ramps and elevators and have last technical facilities such capacity for real time translators.

Toledo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toledo,_Spain), located in the center of Spain (70km south of Madrid), fully communicate with fast trains (45 minutes) and buses with Barajas (Madrid International Airport).

As a turistic city, it has lots and varied accomodations you can reach walking, tons of monuments and interesting places to visit and many cultural activities such a concerts, theater, expositions, etc.

By May there is an exceptional weather in Toledo, so it can be very confortable to visit the city by that date.

We intent to involucre local and regional goverment, public and FLOSS related institutions to provide free access to congresses building (reduce costs) and media support with periodic press releases on newspapers, radio and TV, and eventually some economic sponsorship.

Regional university could be involved as well, and contact with ISP' and hardware providers to suply wifi and Internet connection to entire building and event.

We will organize entire event around an online tool (Joomla! based of course) where to provide all information about the event, manage registrations and online payments, including ability to book hotels and catering (offered as an option into the Palacio de Congresos itself that is prepared with restaurant for 1000).

Will make a public call for papers to stablish the calendar and people interested in exposing on the congress and sponsor companies could answer to have stands (on expo zone) and sponsored meetings on the event as well.

Too, involucre national and international Joomla! developers, designers, administrators... all under the same sun. Make tematic days as follow (4 in total): one day for all puporse public and present Joomla! as a CMS for any kind of webpages and online content, other day for bussiness oriented Joomla! projects to show it as a tool for companies development and integrate new technologies in its bussinness proceses, other day aimed on developers and Joomla! profesionals as ICT companies and freenlacers with high technical chats and finally another day for inauguration and clausure events with some expositions about Joomla! project itself and its present and future.

Hall can host an exposition zone (could be free access for people interested) where sponsors can hosts their stands. Days before and after event can be use to hold events for the organitation comitee.

I haven't been in Toledo yet, and this could be a great opportunity to be in that fantastic city. Congratulations and good luck with your proposal.
