I hate to keep posting problems, but I came across another problem after converting to Joomla!

Here is the deal:  (check out my site to see what I am talking about - http://www.bentonhighschool.com/ )

On my main menu (at the top) I have created several links to content category sections (academics, sports, activities, etc)
When you click on each link it should send to a blog of article related to each (each link should create a different blog).  The problem is the blogs are the same for every link - even though I have assigned different categories to each link.  This worked fine with mambo, it only became a problem when I changed to Joomla so I assume it is a bug.

So, if you would check out the link and a few links at the top and see if you get the same thing (all same blog entries for each link - they should be different) and let me know if you have solutions/suggestions.  Thanks.

Looks same to me.  Also, if you read the comment for Blog - Content Category it says " Displays a page of content items from multiple categories."  And that is what it appears to be doing...

I have multiple categories assigned to each page, but each page has different multiple categories assigned to it.

EX: General school announcements, academic announcements -> academics links
sports announcements, sports news -> sports link
activity news, club news, club announcements ->announcements link
    etc...

BUT if you click on "academics" first and then on "sports" you get the academics blog - but you can see that none of these blogs should be the same

hope I have cleared up the problem...any suggestions???

I see what you mean and no clue why it happens...maybe you should post this as a "bug" in the Joomla 1.0 project tracker at http://developer.joomla.org/sf/tracker/ ... la/tracker and maybe get some feedback from Joomla developers.

Another observation.  I have another site with same template and same concept, but I do not have the same problem.  WEIRD.  could my problem be in

administrator/components/com_menus/content_blog_category

or somewhere else?

I think there were some changes in the cache implementation between Mambo 4.5.2.3 and Joomla 1.0.  I'd still submit this as a potential bug...

I'm having the same problem on my site.  Likewise, disabling cache made it behave as-expected.

I have several multiple-category blog links as my main navigation (with submenus that show up for each area) and they were all showing me the same thing, even though they were supposed to show very different content.

I was also having an odd problem with restricted menu items (both 'registered' and 'special') either showing up for users they shouldn't have (i.e. my admin link ['special'] showing up randomly for all users) or not showing up (i.e. that same admin link NOT showing up randomly on my admin account).

This also seems to have been resolved by disabling cache.

This is disappointing because I was very happy with the overall speed improvements when I enabled caching.  Both of these problems started occurring with Joomla 1.0 (installed on the 19th, replacing Mambo 4.5.2.3) and at least the first continued with 1.0.1 (haven't really tested for the second issue since cache is still disabled for the first).

Sounds EXACTLY like my problem.  Hopefully this will be fixed in the next bug fix.

Hi,

I also got a similar problem to this with page navigation when I switched cache on.
