I am having trouble with the WYSWYG text editor when I generate a Static Content Item. I highlight text, hit the bold icon or try to make it a link, or change he heading style and it doesn't seem to take. Am I doing something wrong, or does this editor just not like Safari? I haven't tried another browser - that is next.

Also, how do you create a link on a page within body text. For instance, I am creating a static content item, and want to link to something else within some intro text I have. The little link button is incomprehesible and does not appear to work. Can I just manually enter some html code or something? Or is this also a Safari issue?

Sorry if these have easy answers, but I am very frustrated. I am new to Joomla, but love it so far. If I could figure out these few issues, I would be set. Thanks.

Ken

I don't have a Mac, so can't help much. Can you test with another browser, even on Win, there are differences between IE and Firefox.. sorry.

In content (or intro text), you can get links a number of things. One of them is an external link so that it opens a new window. Another one is a link to other static or dynamic content. Here you have the choice normally to open this in the existing window, or to open a new window.

Thanks for the answers. IE was even worse. I never did get the wyswyg tools to work rught. I was able to make the formatting changes I needed by just typing in the html code. A small learning curve since it was a simple task. Actually typing here and trying to use the tools for formatting here is what let me know how to do it. Thanks for your help. Joomla is great.

I think it's a Mac issue. I couldn't get the tools to work either until I switched to my PC (inserting links and tables were especially bad). I tried Firefox and Safari on Mac. Bummer.  :-\
