Let's see if somebody can shed some light on this very annoying problem, nobody has as I have yet.

Yesterday, none of my editors would load which meant the content wouldn't load either.  In the end, I upgraded to the latest version joomla, 1.0.12. I thought this sort of the problem but as you can see by the image below, it isn't rendering properly, although the content is all there. This is using the default editor to joomla. The second image on this page shows what comes up first when I try and use the default editor to joomla, tiny.

JCE editor mambot seems to be working although I can't insert images.  When I click on the image, and insert button is greyed out.

You might also want to check your $mosConfig_live_site matches the site you are working on i.e. http://yourdomain.com instead of http://www.yourdomain.com and you have the correct details in your $mosConfig_absolute_path details are correct.

I tried removing the www of the config_live_site but it did exactly the same thing.  I can't see how it would be a problem with the configuration.php anyway, I haven't touched that.  At the moment, I am pretty much stuck because I can't insert images because the only text editor that works to a certain extent, i.e. I can actually put text in but not images is JCE editor mambot.  can you recommend any other editors that I could try.

You might want to try Joomla Diagnostics http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1146/Itemid,99999999/,  it is a really useful tool to check that all of the files have been correctly uploaded http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,53052.0.html

IMPORTANT: Once you have finished using Joomla Diagnostics, please remove the files.

At the moment, I can edit text and add text but I can't add any images to the pages which is a real pain since my website needs images. JCE editor mambot is the only one that works to a certain degree.  I will try this diagnostics programme

FTP the two files contained in Joomla Diagnostics to your Joomla root directory. Then go to a browser window and type in http://www.yourdomain.com/diagnostics.php or http://www.yourdomain.com/joomladirecto ... ostics.php.

Are you using Joomla! v. 1.0.12?
Did you put diagnostic files in the same directory as Joomla!?
Are you using a language other than English?

Hi,

I'm having a similar problem.  but different :)

I cant seem to edit any content in IE. when the pages load i get the message at the bottom "Done but with errors"  I then have no access to the text areas.  Every other part of the program seems to work fine but I can add or edit no content.  I have been getting around this error by using Netscape. I have no trouble editing content there.   This worked fine until I wanted to insert images into my content.  In netscape when I click any of the 'add/edit' buttons (be it insert/edit image, or edit html source, or insert/edit anchor etc) it pops up a blank window. the window title is something like {$lang_insert_image_title}.

Does anyone know what might be wrong with my joomla?  I have ran the diagnostic suggested above but I dont see any errors that relate to this... altho i do get errors:

Error Filename Type
WARNING /hermes/web01/b935/pow.vberg/htdocs/globals.php File is corrupted or has been altered
WARNING /hermes/web01/b935/pow.vberg/htdocs/index.php File is corrupted or has been altered

SECURITY /hermes/web01/b935/pow.vberg/htdocs/templates/red_evolution_twenty_nine/index.php File does not contain _VALID_MOS. Read more

(oh, and those READ MORE links go to 404 pages :( )

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Even if there is a manual way to insert a image where I do not have to use that button.  I tried code but failed :(
(sample of where i tried to just enter code:  http://kindersupplies.com//index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=26)

Thank you
Aylara

UPDATE:  I installed the JCE editor and am now able to insert images just fine.

What version of Joomla! are you running?
What extensions do you have installed?

And can you also provide the following information in order for us to determine your:
What OS (Linux / Windows )?
What webserver (Apache / Win IIS)
What PHP version?
What MySQL version?

Problem solved.  All I did was to upload the tinymce folder from another web site into the one that wasn't working properly and that obviously replaced all files that were missing.  Not sure why nobody came up with this idea in the first place.  Anyway, rather pleased with myself.
