favicon just flashes and disappear.

I have a favicon in my images folder (I have put one in the template images folder as well).
The favicon works just fine in backend, but on the the site it just flashes and disappear.
It seems the icon is read but then quickly removed.

How can I fix this? I'm using the mbt_macro_blue template.

Could you check if there are multiple references to favicon in the html source of your site?

Is there a reference to favicon in the index.php of that template/
Could you disable / remove it and try again? (you'd better backup the file first)

Thx. I just found it.
By some weird reason it didn't work with the favicon in the template/images folder, even if the path was right.
So I changed the path to /images and now it works.

My favicon worked fine for weeks. Then one day, it disappeared. Not completely though. When you loaded the page, it would appear very quickly (or "flash") before disappearing.

Based on this thread, I simply deleted the line referencing the favicon path from my template's index.php file, and it works again. Let's hope it stays that way!

Hi, I have the same problem. My favicon worked fine, but sudenly, there is no my flavicon but favicon of joomla.
I checked my template´s index but there is no line referencing favicon.
Could you please help me to solve my problem?
