Main Menu has gone down in backend

While the menu still works when published I am unable to access or edit. Joomla gives me the following:

Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in /home/apache/sites/gannettministries/htdocs/joomla/includes/database.php on line 289

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/apache/sites/gannettministries/htdocs/joomla/administrator/components/com_menus/admin.menus.php on line 167


None of the menu items show up on the screen.

Any thoughts?

I did want to mention the menu appears in the front end still...
It is just when I go to edit the mainmenu to add links that I get the error

This may indicate database corruption - are you using phpMyAdmin? Perhaps you can run the database repair utility...

I'm having the same problem on 2 different websites located on different servers.

The error occurs randomly on the frontend when you klick a menulink. Both websites are 1.5.3 installations, and one of them has no third party extensions installed yet. When the problem first started, one of the sites were 1.5.2, so i upgraded to 1.5.3 and still got the error.

The following error shows up when you've clicked the frontend mainmenu-links about 10-20 times:

Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in ***/public_html/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 221

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ***/public_html/components/com_content/models/section.php on line 352

I've tried the repair function in phpmyadmin, but still get the error.
Note that I have caching disabled for both sites.

Did you have any luck fixing this? I'm getting the same error code and am all out of ideas trying to fix it.

Hi,

I had the same problem, the main menu items wasn't accessible via backend but fully working in frontend.

I fixed it by accessing the menu via the Joomla Back-end Control panel -> Menu Stats. From there I copied all items into a newly created menu.

Hope that helps. I don't now how to solve the underlying bug though...
