Hello to all!
I am new to joomla and from the first impression itself i love it.
I have created a small website in joomla, but having problem as below:

My website have different section like poems, jokes, famous sayings, etc
i have created menu for all of them, now i want is when i click a menu say jokes all my articles related to category jokes should be appeared here, same way for the other menus like poem and etc.

I have tried a lot but may be as i am new i couldnt found the solution.
Please help me to categorizes joomla.
so that when i click to a menu, all the published item of that category should come to that page and same for the other links as well.

Thanking you in advance.

patel,
welcome to Joomla!. I think you'll find it is very powerful and very helpful!

there are several different types of menu items. If you choose the wrong type of menu item, it won't look right.
i believe the type of menu item you want here is type 'blog-content category'.

hope that helps!
Good luck!

HI,
Thank you very much for the reply.

I have create blog menu, and when i click on that it shows me some previously published articles.
But i have no control what so ever on those articles to display
say in joke menu blog link i want to show only those articles which are related to jokes and not the other.

Right now it shows article from any category.
So that is my concern.

Thanks once again for the reply, buddy.

I have a similar problem.
I try to understand the different menu item types. reading the forum and the user-guide didn't bring clarity into this question. I tried all sorts of things but except the content item and the link item everything else stays a mystery. Is there a documentation on the different items and their functions?
I would be very happy if someone could lead me on.
Thanks a lot,
Jazzwave

Dear it is very simple

* Create a new section - link it with menu (select menu type "Section List")

* create a one category - Type category title, name, select section (you have created)

* go to joomla home page then click "Add new content" - type title, title alias - from drop down box select section & category that you have already created.

check it. it fully work

bye  8)
