Hello all,

I am new to Joomla as well as this forum, and hope that I don't make myself look less intelligent than I feel at the moment.

I am in the process of rebuilding my website with Joomla, because Joomla is GREAT! (Using ver.1.0.13)

I was adding a few RSS feeds, a process that hasn't given me difficulties before, and when I went to preview the site (IE 7) in a different window my entire mainmenu no longer displayed.  It still exists in the menu manager and all of its contents are published and set to public, but it will not display.  I have tried to view loged as admin, registered user, and not logged... no luck, it has simply went AWAL.

Any help on what might have caused this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian

Check that the mainmenu module is published and set to public access.
Also under the module parameters make sure it is set to a position that is available in your template left, right, etc and that it is assigned to "ALL" or the "menu items" (pages you want it on)

Thank you, I just solved this issue though I am not sure why it occured.  I had changed the option on this module to "Show Icons" when reviewing your instructions I remembered that I had done this.  When I turned this option off, my mainmenu module displayed correctly again.

Any ideas why this option would effect visability of the module?

Thanks for the response,
Brian

The icons may be missing or it might be a permissions or file ownership issue.

That was it!  Thanks a bunch for the quick response.  This forum is great, too bad microsquish can't manage something similar for server 2003, but that is a different gripe.

Thanks again,
Brian
