Help.

I have a guy that a work with that needs a new site and was curious if Joomla would be a good choice for his requirements:


He would like to have a site where people in the local are can list their "cars for sale" for a small fee on his site.

We have not created anything yet but was wondering if Joomla is a good choice??

We can use paypal to collect the fee, but curious if there are any extensions available for this??  Maybe something like a ebay clone???

As far as I am concerned Joomla! Is good for anything but there is a learning curve in terms of the time it takes to get really proficient in developing with Joomla! where you really understand it's flexability and extendability.

What you would like to do can probably be done in Virtuemart which is released under the GPL or I believe Hot Property which is a commercial product can do this as well although I have never used this extension.

Both of these can be added into a Joomla! site.
