Hi,
I am setting up a photo gallery website. 

There will be three photo galleries, each will be located on a separate static content page.

Gallery 1 will only be accessible to people who are logged in under the username 'user1'

Gallery 2 will only be accessible to people who are logged in under the username 'user2'

Gallery 3 will only be accessible to people who are logged in under the username 'user3'

I will sell the usernames and passwords to people via email.

How do I set this up in Joomla?

Sorry to be a damper, however, I doubt you can do this with off the shelf Joomla, unless:

1. You find a photo gallery component that supports this type of authentication
2. You customize the gallery component you intend to use.

New guy here so i might be wrong, but if you get a plugin that can assign users to groups (Jacl) then you can put user 1 in group 1, user 2 in group 2 etc. then you can grant group 1 only permission to see gallery 1 and so on

Another extension that I have been looking into that should be able to do what you would like to do easily is an extension called cACL which you can find here:

It is a commercial extension that I have not purchased yet but from the looks of the demo it can do all that you described and much more.
