Hi all,

I am trying to find where to change the greeting message in the login module from "Hi, 'username'" to something else, like "Hi, 'username', welcome to the site." for instance.

I have looked in the PHP and XML files for the module, but didn't find anything obvious. I don't know much about PHP, so maybe I missed something?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks much.

Cheers,
Bill

I think that's in the language file - English.php, for instance.

There is also a way to redirect users to a specific URL, like a static content page on your site, so you can really customize the message. This is an option in the backend of the Login Module.

Yes, I need to know the path to that file as well. I was expecting it to be in language folder, but it's not.

I know this may be a little late; however using Joomla 1.5.22 I found the text on line 14 of the en-GB.mod_login.ini file located in the language\en-GB folder.

On my Joomla 1.5 system I found the file which is responsible for creating the login form at:-
public_html/templates/myTemplate/html/mod_login/default.php
and the code which causes the button to be displayed is there.
