Can we add custom html to pages, we have several other websites and we are looking to convert them to Joomla. We have custom widgets on most of them and would need to use them on their new sites.

Also, we have some big ol forms (applications) that we need to transfer over. How do we build these, I cannot find anything that will allow us, unless we can add custom HTML, then we can.

Thanks in advance,
sspider

There is a wonderful Joomla extension that I think will help you a lot.

Take a look at JUMI.  I think it will do what you want:

Once again, I feel a little dense or maybe just burnt out after this week.... Where do I put this code, I went to the site you recommended and I guess I don't get where it goes or how I use it. I have some code to put in for PayPal buttons, it is basically a form code and it will not hold in the WYSIWYG, even if I open an HTML edit box, I put it in and when I apply, it never shows up.

Thanks for your help

You can add any custom HTML into the body of your pages to include forms, FLASH, javascript etc.

HINT: You need to turn the Text editor OFF while doing so AND when accessing the page in the future.

Here's a quick primer on adding custom HTML to a Joomla page.

**Keeping the Editor OFF is important when not only embedding FLASH object/embed code and javascript etc. but also when you return to edit the page in the future.

This has been my experience. I'd love to hear if others have a more efficient way.

I have a separate user on the backend of my site with the text editor disabled for this purpose.  That way I don't have to keep turning it on and off.

Here's another possible approach.  You can keep the HTML on, but go into the Editor mambot settings (Mambots) TinyMCE.  There is an option there called "Clean up HTML."  Turn that off.

Then when you go into HTML editing, the editor will not mess it up.  Give that a try and see if that works.

As has been said, you need to turn off WYSIWYG mode. Do this by going to the user manager and selecting 'NO WYSIWYG' on your user name. Then you can put any HTML, Javascript, any code, into a piece of content without the editor stripping it. But you'll have to remember if when you turn WYSIWYG back on, and open that content, it'll strip the code and you'll ahve to go back and rebuild it.

As far as forms and stuff like that, I don't know how complex your forms are, but FacileForms is a great forms component.

That's why I created a separate user.  That way if I see it was created by that user, I know not to open it while using my main super-admin account.

Thanks this solved half of what i was intending to do... know understand why it causes me problems

My boss created a dynamic table, it works well... but i have been trying to embed it in Joomla and each time it says there is a problem with the XML.

I also tried to do a link... but the only thing i got was this

dinamic table

which works... but takes us out of the joomla page, even when it is saved inside the joomla folder... any ideas?

Use the wrapper and wrap it in.

thanks we are cheking it, while he also tries to make his facilform forms work with Ajax... they suddenly stopped working, his first question to me "what did you move to the tables?2 since i am cheking how to make my own templates... but still haven't affected the old one i could only said "errr... nothing!"

*edit* Actually we found what was wrong in the code, so my boss was able to make it work embedding the code as a content. Thanks for the help to all of you.
