Admin passwords suddenly stop working in J 1.0.9

Hello!

I maintain a Joomla 1.0.9 site that runs on PHP v.4, and this week, all of my admin logins simply stopped working.

Through my hosting company, I restored my database to where it was five days ago. That got my logins working again for awhile, but they've stopped working again.

I had been dragging my feet in updating the site to J 1.5, but has anyone out there encountered anything even remotely like this?

There was a security vulnerability in earlier versions of J!1.0 (especially on PHP4 and if register_globals is enabled), even your release is way downlevel within the J!1.0 series of Joomla!

"cleanse" the site of any exploit code, hidden files and directories, unexpected CRON tasks, update to at least J!1.0.15 or get a move on and migrate to J!1.5 and get away from PHP4

Please take note: J!1.0 is no-longer supported.
