I really appreciate all your investigation on this issue.

Sadly, SEF Advance provides SO much value I'm not ready to uninstall it. So, I'll play with the DB change and your code change, and with seeing if I can avoid apostrophes in the "wrong" place.

Did you try modifying the data in DB first? Did that break SEF Advance?

If not, then I guess your good. If it did, then you don't need to get rid of SEF Advance, just uninstall and re-install.

I broke it when I made the change in the DB, and randomly reinstalled SEF Advance and it worked .

You might give it a try.

Modifying the data in the DB works just fine... SEF Advance had no problem... I haven't tested making the code modification yet.

If you're still having problems, try this - simply replace the troublesome apostrophes with ’ in the text. This will look beautiful in the finished page.

Rygle, that did nothing for me, I'm just trying to get rid of the / that appears before all ' in web link categories and items.
It's pretty hard to believe there isn't a simple fix as you suggested to try.

Thank goodness for this forum!  I also had the same problem (with "Children's Ministry" no less!) and solved it the easy way: editing the category database entry.  Doesn't seem to have affected anything else.
