I have a very frustrating problem.

The server my website runs on has been upgraded. My joomla is at ver 1.0.10 (I will update to 1.0.11 soon).

I had the Security Images component protecting my guestbook from SPAM.

Now, it doesn't work and neither do ANY other methods that display the "decript this" window.

It appears to work, but the image itself does not appear. I have tried uninstalling, patching, modifying the files and I have now uninstalled AKObook.

It worked perfectly before.

I have also tried easy guest book and the "decrypt this" window doesn't work in that either.

Any ideas why it would stop working? could it be something to do with the server? I need some kind of solution that protects against spam.

Do youi know exactly what was upgraded?  I assume you mean php was upgraded.

Which security images component are you using?  More than likely it will rely on image libraries like GD or imagemagick.  Its possible your ISP updagraded and didnt compile in support for these libraries, or something along those lines.

You can find out all your system info by clicking System > System Info > Php Info in the joomla admin.

Again without knowing exactly what image component you're running, its hard to say what its requirements are, but its probably gd.  You'll see a whole section on GD in the php info page if its compiled, and installed.  I'm guessing they broke something in these regards.
