Database password with special characters

Post by rdna » Tue Jul 01, 2014 5:46 pm

Hi everybody!

Something happened with my Joomla 1.0.15 configuration file (most probably it was hacked). Now I try to restore it. I have a problem:

Godaddy hosting requires database passwords to contain special characters (!@#$%^&...)

When I enter the password with special characters to configuration.php I have an error :

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_LNUMBER in html/configuration.php on line 58

I've used
$mosConfig_password = 'SomePass!’;

I've used a password with special characters before and everything was fine.

Please advice :)

First advice - As of July 22, 2009, the Joomla 1.0.x series was no longer be supported. That was five years ago. Move on - rebuild your site in 3.x.

Second advice - A T_LNUMBER is an integer. The error is saying your configuration.php file has a waward integer on line 58 (or 57). Look for it and remove it.
