hello everyone!
i'm using mozilla and when i enter to my page using mozilla's tab the name that appears on the tab is "home",as the name of my first section.i want to change it to something else.
is it possible without changing the section's name?

in the Administration Panel -> Menu Manager (Default Menu) choose the default marked menu item and have a look at the advanced options

there are no advanced options on my default menu.there's only name,title and description!i can't do anything from there.
is there another solution?

well, i cheked the advanced options on my default front page item if you meant that, which name is home, but i don't see any option that could help me.

Did anyone manage to find a solutions to this? When I go to my website the internet explorer tab shows "home". I would like to change this to "Free Independent Mortgage Advice". How do I do this?

Please help. It would be greatly appreciated.

1) Logging in the administration area.
2) Select the Menu Manager icon. This should take you to the Menu Manager page.
3) Look for the "Main Menu" (it is usually the first in the list) and select the icon in the "Menu Item(s)" column (third column). This should take you to the Main Menu manager page.
4) Select Home. This is going to take you to an editor page where you will be able to configure this menu item.
5) Expand the "Parameters (System)" tab located in the right column.
6) The first item: "Page Title" is what you want to change.

Try it and let me know.

Thanks for the reply. I tried what you said but that only put the title that I typed in on the homepage. It still says "home" in the firefox/IE tab.

I am sorry to ask again, but is your version 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 1.5.3....? I need the last digit of the version to check if there was a bug related to your specific version.

I'm using Joomla! 1.5.8 and the solutions above do not work for me. Does anyone have a solution to replace the "Home" in the browser tab to the site name?

I found the solution!! I am using Joomla! 1.5.8 and sh404SEF. In the sh404SEF component, there is an area for Meta Tags. Click the "Home page Meta" button at the top and input the information that you want to display. The Title tag changes the "Home" to your site name in the browser tab.

I just noticed in the newest version (1.5.11) it now works correctly to change the Home tab. So if you don't want to install the sh404SEF component, do this: Go to Menus / Main Menu and click on the "Home" in the list. Then click on Parameters (System) and change the Page Title. Save.
