Joomla 1.6

Post by Majorpayne » Tue May 19, 2009 4:58 pm

I have a few questions

1. Is 1.6 still ontrack for 3rd quater of 2009
2. Is there a beta at this time? I don't want to buy a ACL since 1.6 will have it intregrated

More questions later Thanks in advanced

1. Time will tell, but personally I doubt it.
2. Nope, no beta's or alpha at the moment.

Is ACL at least still slated to be included?

Yes, that will definitely go it. Most of the code for that is already in. It's mostly getting all extensions to use it properly now.

Is it likely to appear this year?

I'm using CiviCRM which eagerly awaits the ACL features to be viable with Joomla. But I've figured the ACL issues are only a problem when my members run out of their membership, next Jan and Feb during the grace period. So long as Joomla has working ACL by then I don't have to switch to Drupal now :)

Please don't make me have to learn Drupal!!!

Very good video, I was just testing here on my local server, I found some more bugs that I believe is resolved in the "Beta" release soon.

Thanks for that.

If it is of interest, we also have other Joomla video content on the Vimeo page. Whatever the Joomla User Group in Brisbane, Australia is doing tends to make it up there.

Hoping the ability to automatically use drop down menus with the base works.
