Unable to Unlock a Content Item

I recently been given Admin access to my roller derby league's website and have been updating/correcting news items and such since. There is one old news item I would like to shove in the archive but it marked as checked out as of 2 months ago, and won't let view it let a lone move it to the Archive or whatever.

Using same Admin account as the main webmistress of the site (created ones for myself and few others that will be updating the site with news stuff), still shows as lock. Only thing I am guessing is that it wasn't closed properly, the webdesigner admin account was created and then the default Admin account was deleted after the Lock was done....that or just renaming the Administrator default account caused the total lock out.

Another possibility I am exploring which I vaguely remember seeing when I built couple of Joomla sites last year was that it is locked because it is dependent on another content item elsewhere on the site. Even then, should still let me view it at least, no?

Short from ripping it out of the SQL database manually or any other server side stuff (as I do not have access to), is there anything else I could try or do to unlock it, or worse case, delete?

Thank you,

-mellian

As for other tidbits... the content in question use to be in Frontpage, but now been pushed into the LatestNews portion...which also happens to be locked and cannot undo it.

Also only now I realized, after doing a search for answers, that the site is missing a Super Administrator account, oi. Hence probably got deleted after the Webdesigner account was created AFTER not closing the locked content properly.
