You probably have some dodgy characters in the content.
How do you create the content? Copy/paste from which source?

It is nothing to do with Joomla, just copy/paste the URL from the URL bar in your browser when you are editing the page at the backend.

Q1. Is there a reason why you are running the previous version of Joomla 1.0?
(Current version is 1.0.15)

Q2. Which editor are you using?

It is normal to keep Joomla up to date. You are running an old version. The best you can do is to upgrade it to the most secure Joomla version which is 1.0.15. I am not currently suggesting that you upgrade, my question was, is there a reason why you are running the previous version of Joomla 1.0?

I think you need some professional assistance, I really would seek assistance of a local Joomla expert.

You don't need to run the editor to find out which editor you are running. Just look in the global configuration and report back with the value of the Default WYSIWYG Editor.

If I were you I would seek that assistance, as you are a Joomla newbie it is going to be quite hard to take you through stuff.

But, I'll try. If your host has a control panel then I would seek out the username/password details for the host and look in the error log. Secondly, in the Joomla root, there may be a file called error_log, it is a text file and can be viewed, it may give an indicator as to what the problem is.

A possible route to resolve the problem would be to extract the files from a 1.0.15 installation and then copy them over to the site using ftp. I wouldn't recommend doing this until you have tried the other avenues first.

You have to upgrade Joomla in any case as the version you are running is insecure. The latest version of 1.0 is 1.0.15.

Also have a search for a file called php.ini and post the contents here. It may be in the root.

I should have asked this earlier but did you make any changes prior to this occurring?

Who is hosting the site?

Have they made any changes to the hosting environment?
