Backend Login Problems - Admin Login - blank screen SOLVED!
Hello there,
I don't seem to remember installing any new modules etc the last couple of times that I logged in but for some reason, when I go to http://www.mywebsite.com/administrator and log in, it just goes to a blank page.
There are some posts regarding this but they don't explain anything clearly in layman's terms. If someone could talk me through how I identify what is wrong in a easy step by step approach, I would really appreciate that.
There is no error message. It just leads to a blank page after logging in.
I am using the lastest Joomla 1.5.14.
I tried with both Explorer and Firefox.
I am using PhP 5 accoding to my webhost.

Re: Backend Login Problems - Administrator Login - blank screen
No-one got back to me regarding this - I contacted my host provider and asked them if they could help. I use www.lunarpages.com They have been absolutely fantastic as a provider. I am not sure if the solution will work for everyone but basically it was an issue with the databases. I had to:
1. login to cpanel
2. click on "MySQL® Databases"
3. click on phpmyadmin
4. choose your database
5. scroll down and click on "check all"
6. to the right is a drop down box, click on that and choose "optimize table"
Good luck with anyone having the same problem.

Re: Backend Login Problems - Admin Login - blank screen SOLVED!
Mine is fixed now. Yesterday I had installed PhocaPDF because I wasn't happy with the ugly pdfs that were being generated by default joomla. To fix it, I had to go in through the cpanel to phpmyadmin, hunt around in the jos database, go to the components in the database, browse to the last page and delete all the components with Phocapdf and do the same in the plugins. Then, thank the Lord above, I managed to get in through the admin and all seems to be fine. The awful thing is that it was the client who contacted me about it (I like to sort things like this out so that the clients can be blissfully unaware) but all's well that ends well, it is now working fine. Grrrr phoca!!!! Won't be installing anything from you again!!

Re: Backend Login Problems - Admin Login - blank screen SOL
After much trial and error, basically trying every solution listed on every forum thread that dealt with this issue, I finally tried clearing my cookies in my web browser (Safari on OSX), I was able to clear the admin login loop!
Try it...
Try it...

This was happening to me only in FF on PC not on the mac and a quick clear of recent History did the trick.
