Joomla 1.0 for php 5.3 and 5.4 download.
I needed to quickly get a couple Joomla! 1.0 sites back working after a server upgrade and have posted my work on git hub https://github.com/micheas/Joomla-1.0.
If you want to download a tar ball or zip file you can at https://github.com/micheas/Joomla-1.0/downloads.
Beyond the few minor code modifications it also includes the current version of tinymce so it also supports the wysiwyg editor now supports current web browsers.

The most recent version of php I have tested it on is 5.4.4,
I don't know of any reason that it shouldn't work however.
There is a fork that has a little bit more code cleanup, but I don't know if that is in a working state or not.

This saved my day!
I asked the provider myself to upgrade the php version because I was installing 3.0. So now I can continue with the upgrade process while the 1.0 version is still running.
Thanks, Tom

Re: Joomla 1.0 for php 5.3 and 5.4 download.
Hello Micheas,
thanks for your engagement.
I tested it with PHP 5.4.7. on my local machine. The Installer worked well but the created site and administration backend are full of PHP-Errors like:
Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in ...\administrator\index.php on line 173
or:
Strict standards: Non-static method mosProfiler::getmicrotime() should not be called statically in ...\administrator\templates\joomla_admin\login.php on line 17
and:
Deprecated: Function eregi() is deprecated in ...\modules\mod_mainmenu.php on line 38
...
Do you have an idea how to solve this? Thanks.
Greetings from Berlin - Mirko

Re: Joomla 1.0 for php 5.3 and 5.4 download.
Hi micheas. I have a problem with Joomla 1.0.15 and PHP 5.4.30. The problem is that content is not displayed at all.
I tried your patch taken from: https://github.com/micheas/Joomla-1.0. It does not work. The screen is blank (white).
Please advise what could I do to fix this. I will be very grateful for your help.

Re: Joomla 1.0 for php 5.3 and 5.4 download.
I have a Joomla 1.0 site, that has been migrated to a new server. I have missing page content. I think that I need to convert Joomla 1.0 for PHP 5.3.
The site runs on a host server. How can I do the conversion? Do I FTP the tar to the root directory on the host, after I download it to my computer, or do I download the Joomla files and do the conversion, then FTP them back to the root directory?

You just overwrite all current folders/files with the ones from the conversion. FTP, file manager, etc. Worked for me at least!

Re: Joomla 1.0 for php 5.3 and 5.4 download.
I downloaded most of the .php files from the host, then used PHPStorm to Reformat the files. Then I uploaded the reformatted files back to the host.
It has not fixed my problem, but I might have missed some files. Am I doing this right?

I didn't make it that complicated. Here's what I did:danlee58 wrote:I downloaded most of the .php files from the host, then used PHPStorm to Reformat the files. Then I uploaded the reformatted files back to the host.

1. Transferred my site and DB to the new server. Things sorta worked but menus and other little aspects didn't.
2. Found this post, followed the links to download the package.
3. Unzipped the package on my local machine
4. FTP'd the entire contents of that folder to my server, overwriting all folders and files. You don't loose content/etc because that's all handled in the database and other php files that aren't affected.
5. Done.
Be sure you have a solid backup before doing any of this.
Good luck!

Sorry, I don't remember. Whatever the threads pointed to that was the most current. It seems that he updated his original to at least a second version.

Re: Joomla 1.0 for php 5.3 and 5.4 download.
I downloaded 1.0.16.tar.gz to my computer, then extracted the files. Then I FTPed the extracted files to the host root directory. Now the page content shows up, but my HTML editor doesn't work.
