Hey all!

I am one of the administrators for a site run with Joomla 1.0.9, however I recently got a new laptop with Vista on it (I know, I know, I had no choice) and now I am having trouble editing content for the site.

To insert a link or insert a table and some other functions, Joomla opens a small pop-up window. It worked fine on my old PC with Windows XP, but now on this Vista PC these pop-ups stay blank, even though it tells me it loaded the content of them.

I have tried all the settings I could find in my Firefox, but maybe I am not witty enough.

Anyone know of any solutions to the prob? Is it a Vista problem or something else?

Thanks so much!
Phoebe

It is not the problem of Operating System, It is your configuration in the first installation of Joomla, Here is how it can be solved for sure!

You either logged in to your site with "www.yoursitename.com/administrator" or with out www So what you will do is that...in one of it it will work but not in both. if you logged in to your admin with www.yoursitename.com and if Blank thing appears then log out and then log in again with out www , They it will work 100%.

It was a trouble for me for long but now solved nicely! Am not good at my english but i tried my best for the solution.

Thank you for trying to help, Bini.
Unfortunately your solution didn't work for me.

I tried the login with and without the www, but in both cases the pop-up windows to enter links etc. stayed blank.

Does anyone else have an idea? I am looking for any idea at this point.

Thanks!

Same thing, when the site was created everything went just fine, but for the last half a year I am not able to change a thing on my site because of those blank popup windows. Tried www in configuration file, tried different editors, tried FF 2 and 3.5, IE 6 and 7, Opera - still no hope... Is there any solution to this issue at all???

I have several sites with this issue. The js popup windows are fine using Linux and Firefox.

Solved!!
The url in the js popup window must match the url where you logged in.
(ie. the js window said http://yada.com login was at http://www.yada.com)
Logged out, went to the url without www. in the address, logged back in and it works.

I had the same issue. The problem was empty component.php file in my template directory. Copy/paste that file from system template directory seems to be a good solution in my case

I am raising this issue again in hopes of a permanent fix.

I see that entering www brings back the window as one would need to see it but romprzy's solution hasn't made any difference on my site.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Is it to do with another corrupt file possibly?

Thanks
