Hi,

rex1030 Urdu is a big language of South Asian countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladash, Srilanka, and most of the peoples living in Arab countries can understand Urdu, if you have listen about Boolywood (Booliwood is at 2nd after Hoolywood. Hoilywood made movies in English and boolywood made movies in Hindi/Urdu)...then you know that all the movies made in boolywood are in Urdu but the difference is this that most of the peoples call Urdu is as Hindi so the Urdu and Hindi is more or less same.

Thanks,
Eddy.

Just to add a little to this...

Hindi is spoken very similar to Urdu, however the 2 languages are written completely different.  Its like English and Arabic... completely different characters.
