AOA,
What i have understand that you want to save Urdu text as Unicode in the database directly and you want that user can search it but entering Urdu text in search.
if this is the case then you can do this by doing some work at your end. one of our friend write that he can arrange Inpage version of Quran. Take inpage version of Quran from him and i can arrage a Unicode converter for you which help you to convert all inpage text in Unicode. which you can easily copy past in your website.
please visit to the www.urduweb.com. this website is running by our very nice friend Nabeel who did lot of work for Urdu text, Urdu search, Urdu converter and Urdu Blogs... remember do not forget to register at urduweb register our there.
Regards,
Eddy.

Re: Aslam Alaikum - Quran with urdu translation?
Dear Brothers,
Assalam-o-Alikum!
I am Abdur Raheem, currently living and working in Saudi Arabia. I am having almost the same need as of brother Khawaib i.e., to have a selectable text format database of Quran's Urdu translation (unicode).
What I would like to share with you is, I have been using the world famous Quran Viever software that has functionality to encapsulate as many as language translations as available. And there have been many translations already available on web from : http://www.shaplus.com/free-quran-softw ... wnload.htm
This includes many of them adopted by King Fahad's Quran Complex in Madinah Munawarah. The Urdu translation available there is also the one adopted by Quran Complex Madinah.
Now the difficult part with this software is, that I reads the translations from DBT files (translations). And Mulana Junagarhi's translation's indexed dabase is also available there but again in DBT format.
I have triedd a lot, and have been searching for many conversion tools to onvert this DBT file to dbf of any other common data base format so that I can use it for further development of my work and Da'wah purposes. Why I have been sticking with this particular translation because this has been also been adopted by Saudi Government and Quran Complex.
Today, you can certainly find the most beautiful and simple to read, selectable and copyable urdu translation of Holy Quran at: http://www.qurancomplex.com/Quran/Targa ... a=1&nAya=1
But again, it is just a website and has the complete Quran Translation in Urdu with exclusive footnotes and summarized Tafseer at bottom of each page across 604 pages. Downloading and copying all this information into a database is possible, but a VERY time consuming activity. If you brothers have any information in this regard please share the thought. If you have the copy of this translation databse, or you have any tool that can read data correctly from dbt files, or any thing relevant.
If nothing works, then I willl Inshallah visit personally the Quran Complex in Madinah and request them to please provide this valuabel information because they already have it in almost 40 major langauges.
Best Regards, and May ALLAH Bless you for the good work you are doing (Amen).
JAZAK-UMULLAH KHAIR

Re: Aslam Alaikum - Quran with urdu translation?
Assalam-o-Alikum!
Thansk brother for sharing this valueable information.
I searched for .dbt files editors and found that dBASE and Microsoft Visual FoxPro can edit these files.
I also have whole Quran available from websites and in exe files. To use that in a component for joomla it needs to be in database. The component available at the moment for Quran has SQL files for Quran(Arabic) and English translation. I am working on to create a SQL file so that user can easily run the file and upload whole urdu translation into database on server.
Please let me know if you would like to have the translations I have.
Jazak Allah.
Khawaib Ahmed

Assalamoalaikum
I have just landed here through google.com. I want to convert great work of Abdul Karim Parekh sb. ( http://emuslim.com/Quran/Lughat.asp ) into Database driven website. For this I need unicode vesion of Quran e Karim. I plan to import this into Access database both in Aaya by Aaya for Word by Word form. But to begin with I need authenticated version. Quran complex has done a wonderful job but there is no link to download in Unicode form with Erab (اعراب). I shall also develop flah cards module as well.
Please help.

Dear Brother Asrar,
As you know, there is no known source (online) available to get the urdu translation of Quran Karim in database format with indexable and searchable unicode char set.
At the moment I am working on converting URDU translation of Holy Quran by Maulana Junagarhi into Ms Access database format (the same translation has been adopted by King Fahad Quran Complex Madina and can be found at http://www.qurancomplex.com, but it's not available for download in database). I hope to have it done in couple of months Inshallah, since I am doing it one by one per ayah from the above-mentioned source.
Now coming towards what can I provide you at the moment:
Brother I do have following with me in Access or Excel format in Unicode form. If you are interested in having any of these please let me know, I will send you that Inshallah.
Al-Quran
Arabic Text (with Erab in Unicode + Database format)
English Translations (in Unicode + Database format)
by
i - Muhsin Khan (adopted by Quran Complex Madinah / Saudi Government)
ii - M. H. Shakir
iii - Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall
Urdu Translation "In-Progress" (in Unicode + Database format)
Maulana Junagarhi - also adopted by Quran Complex Madinah (Saudi Government)
If you are interested in any of these, please let me know, I will be more than happy to share these valuable resources with you.
May Allah Almight guide all of us towards right path and fruitful knowledge of deen, and enable us to perform good deeds in HIS way (Amen).
Have a nice day.
Sincerely yours,
Abdur Raheem
