users can't log out

Hi!

I'm running joomla 1.0.12.

Currently users can't log out. They simply remain logged in.

Any experienced the same? Any ideas on solutions?

do you mean that there is no function for them to log out?

or do you mean that they use the logout function, but it doesn't log them out?

There is a logout mechanism, but it's not working. I.e they click to log out, but they remain logged in.

If you have a log out function, then I'm not sure why it won't log you out. Have you checked your config file to make sure all paths and live_site are correct? Not sur that it would matter, but if something is wrong in there, strange things can happen.

Also, did it EVER work?

I'm seeing the same issue here.

My users log in, but they simply can't log out. They click logout and remain actively logged-in.

Yes im having same problems i log in and then o to log out and it says:

You are currently logged in to the private area of this site.

I cant log out

ps i have noticed that if i dont select the remember me button i can then log out

surely this cant be the only answer ??

Yeah, I am having problems with this too....there seems to be some serious bug with the SEO and the log in module. Something is not working properly and this needs to be addressed.

There is a conflict if you are running a 1.5.x Joomla site in Legacy mode..i.e. 1.0

Go to the plugins section in the administrators pages.

Look for the plugins that start "System-"

Reorder them so the the "System-Remember Me" is before the "System-Legacy" and that should solve your problems.

Reordering doesn't help me. Firefox is fine. IE 8 users can not log out. Hit the logout button, screen refreshes, user still logged in. Mods that should not show, show.

Hi everyone,
I don't want to disable Remember Me, because I want my users to be able to stay logged in. But I would like occasionally to be able to log out in order to see what visitors can see. I'm super-admin and I seem to be the only one who can't log out! The other super-admin has the opposite problem, can't stay logged in for more than 12 hours at a time.

I tried moving the Legacy plugin, but it's disabled anyway.
