I thought that I'd share this, just in case anyone else has a similar problem -

I recently had difficulty with accessing my joomla! installation front end. I kept on getting the a message informing me that the page address was invalid, this despite the fact that the page had recently been opened with no problem whatsoever.

After a good root around in the back end, I discovered that the Wrapper module had been activated and that no wrapper URL had been set. De-activating this module proved to be the solution. All now works fine.
