Can an absolute path be 'almost' correct?

Post by Frustrato » Tue May 25, 2010 3:14 pm

I have found the absolute path using the normal means, and now the site will open... but not show the proper layout/template.

Plus, I see this line on the homepage now:
Warning: strpos() [function.strpos]: Empty delimiter in /home/mydomain/includes/frontend.php on line 27

Just wondering if the absolute path was a "pass/fail' thing or if it could be mostly correct... since it looks like mine is mostly correct, but if this is a black or white issue I'll know at least that I need to search elsewhere to solve my problem.

Let me know thanks!

(I did not include a URL because this seems to be irrelevant - either the absolute path behaves one way or another... if that is a mistake, let me know)

Hi,

Firstly, it'll be nice if you would've posted this in the Joomla 1.0 forums.

The absolute path cannot be 'almost right' it's either right or wrong.
The error you refer to seems to be related to the $MosCOnfig live site rather than absolute path. make sure it is set correctly.

Mod note: Please move this to the Joomla 1.0 forums

...not sure how to 'move' the post - let me know and I'll happily do so, but the question (I thought) was for any joomla installation - not just 1.0.

I don't think we can move a post, hence I put a mod note.

As for the issue, I think absolute path is not an issue, anyway Joomla 1.5 does not have any absolute path setting. Your issue where the CSS etc do not appear seems to be an issue with the incorrect live site. Please change the $mosConfig_live_site to the correct URL for your site and all should be okay.

It would be helpful if you can share the URL

Problem was solved - yes, it was live site that had to be changed... thanks!
(yes a URL would help - when I can, I provide, sometimes I am unable however)
