Here's my problem:

Well, essentially my site has two URLs - the "real" URL assigned to me by DynDNS and the "WWW" one I'm paying for.

Since when I originally set up my server I didn't have the paid URL yet, when users go to my site they're redirected from the WWW URL to the real one.

I'm afraid this might confuse people (especially since all my images and stuff have the URL I paid for), so I want Joomla! to make all the links use the URL I'm paying for instead of the other one.  Is there any way to do this other than reinstalling?

two things might influence any change of server. The actual live site which you define in configuration.php and all the individual links..............

the move (All you have to do is 3 lines or so) is described here: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,5556.0.html

if you have hardcoded links such as http://www.mysite.com instead of dynamic joomla links such as index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=22&Itemid=36 or so you need to change those all. if you did not use the inetrnal linking mechanism you will face that issue.

Hope this helps
cheers
Leo

Hmm, this is causing problems with my templates (both for the site and for the admin tool).

It only happens when I'm using "URL Frame" (as opposed to "URL Redirect").  "URL Frame" is what I would prefer, though, since it leaves my URL at the top as "www.linuxpenguin.net", the URL I'm paying for, while the other one redirects it to the DynDNS.org domain name.

I've noticed that the company I'm leasing the URL through does have their own dynamic DNS service.  Next time I go home (later this week) I'll test that out - maybe there's some level of incompatibility between the two DDNS services.

Perhaps it would even make my DDNS domain name the same as the domain name I'm paying for, which would be ideal.  Their client is Windows-only but they say there's other compatible clients for Linux so. . .
