I am trying to install Jomla 1.0.13 on a linux server (IxWebhosting) and I get this messages when trying to access the main site after the installation progress: Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /hsphere/local/home/[user]/[mysite.net]/jomla/includes/sef.php on line 533

I put the configuration.php file in the base folder wich is .../jomla.


could somebody help me with this problem.

Attached is my sef.php file after installation if needed

After installed, did you enable the SEF from Global Configuration in Admin at all  ???

If you did then, you may need to modify .htaccess for the line: Rewrite base to /joomla instead of /

IMO, I 'll try to to access /administrator first, disable SEF and rename .htaccess back to htaccess.txt

No I didn't enable SEF. I can't see this option in Global Configuration.



My htaccess file is htaccess.txt and it looks like this:
