Is it possible to create a sticky or something where components and modules that actually work with 1.5 can be added. Tried 4 that claim to work but they don't.

I have stickied this post, impressions about working components for 1.5 can be added here.

I have Joomap and Xplorer working, but I do have legacy mode on.
It might be intereting to add rather or not known components require legacy on or off in order to work

I have legacy mode on and phpGedView and TNG componments do not function. phpGedView displays a blank screen and TNG states error on line 6. In checking line 6 I do not see any any problem.

Where do you find legacy mode to turn on?

TIA

I found legacy, it is in the configuration file , just change it from 0 to 1 to turn it on, left the question in case someone else had it.

It's also available in the backend, under Site|Configuration, Server "tab".

It looks like legacy must be on to install these components.  I just got an error message stating that legacy must be on.

Can someone explain to me in some detail what this legacy thing does? Are there any downsides to turning it on, and if not why isn't it on by default?

Stian

Legacy mode enabled the old functions (which are now in Joomla 1.0.x). The downside to using is that it costs you some performance, since it has to load both 1.0 and 1.5 code.

Hi

All these have been tested with Legacy Mode turned on.

I have the following information on working comps & mods -

JoomlaXplorer 1.5 working with no issues, so far !

Joomap 2.0.5 - says " menu system in deprecated state"

Things that currently fail miserably -

ExtCalander 0.9.2

JoomlaBoard 1.1.3

Noah Classifieds 1.0B3

If anyone has tried MosetsTree, I would be interested in the results?

Keep the faith and keep testing !!

Ian.
