I'm bit poor MySQL/PHP -programmer, so i ask if anyone has useable script to just convert e107 users to joomla-users.

I was thinking, that i am going to export e107_user to CVS-table and then importing it to jos_users, but there are some [censored] up fields in e107_user table.. i compare the e107_user and jos_user tables for example:

e107_user

user_id: 1
user_name: Just Example
user_loginname: example
user_customtitle
user_password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
user_sess
user_email: exampleman@domain.com
user_signature
user_image
user_timezone
user_hideemail: 0
user_join: 1148419058
user_lastvisit: 1150956720
user_currentvisit: 1151306777
user_lastpost
user_chats
user_comments
user_forums
user_ip
user_ban
user_prefs
user_new
user_viewed
user_visits
user_admin
user_login
user_class
user_perms
user_realm
user_pwchange

jos_users

id: 1
name: Just Example
username: example
email: exampleman@domain.com
password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
usertype: Registered
block: 0
sendEmail: 0
gid: 18
registerDate: 2006-07-12 11:12:24
lastvisitDate: 2006-07-13 09:32:09
activation
params

So problem really is.. wtf is with e107 user_join, user_lastvisit and user_currentvisit? In Joomla dates and times are understandable but with e107 they are messed up.

I would appreceite any help i get and hopefully someone has working solution what doesnt need programming (more than setting up db-arrays in code) :-[

it looks like those dates are actually milliseconds (or seconds) since 1 Jan 1970 :)

I just finished this for a site.
It was ugly in the making, but turned out great.

Now they have been moved from e107 to a Joomla!, CommunityBuilder, SMF system and there have been no complaints.  I think of the 500+ members the site only lost about 2.
All forums and news were intact.

I've never done this, but my guess  :D is that the process involves either transferring, renaming, repopulating (or by other means) tables that perform content functions for e107 to tables that perform the same or similar functions within your Joomla database. This could be done with scripting or manually... I guess  :)

alexalecu, I tried your script, but it gives an error: SELECT Error: Table 'ac2004.e107_content' doesn't exist
I checked, and in my e107 database there is no table with this name. Any ideas?
Thanks

We are about to embark on this venture, see if its possible/probable, i've used both CMS's for several years and know both the code and databases structures fairly well....

From what I can infer from reading and through my experience in both db's this has to be possible... complicated yet possible.. its just a matter of manipulating the databases fields properly, this is going to be a manual deal, i'll prob do it in excel and generate the sql files from there, we'll see how it goes... keep ya'll posted....

I gave up, hoping for a script.

I have not more than 200 users on my e107 site and I will add them manually into the joomla sql database.

I have the following problem.

I've added copyed (copy paste) my user from the e107 database to joomla.
user/pass/email
also incremented the ID and in the GID i've put 18 (regular user) <-- right??

Now, I can login into joomla with the manually added user, but in admin mode, with admin user I can't see the user in the users list.

Can anyone help me with this issue?

Thanks in advance

loplo

We decided to go with a different CMS all together for this project; although we are still manging several other projects with joomla and ijoomla modules. I was able to convert over the users into the new CMS for this project it was all manual but it worked.

The MD5 encryption on the password fields are the same from e107 to joomla the only thing you have to do manual in joomla is make sure that the jos_aco_groups table cross references the correct id in the jos_users table. This is easier done in excel, just backup the tables from mysql admin to a csv file drop in the new inserts from e107 giving each a unique value then open the aco_groups table in a csv and cross reference the unique ids to the aco_groups table then create two sql files from your csvs and upload them over the current tables.

Of course, as alway, do this in a development enviroment and make backups along the ways. Its a bit complicated may take some trial and error but if you got the tools it can be done. shoot me a PM if you need some help I;ll do it on contract if you need it done quickly and want to pay for it.

the links.php does not work from the download.

you have to alter where it says 'e107_links' to 'e107_links_page'

'e107_links' is the menu items. 'e107_links_page' is the plugin.

second, when you create the categoreis in weblinks as per instructions the catagory ID must be the same.

This script could be made to add the catagories aswell. I am not the man though as i have struggled to find this much out.

hope this helps
