Upgraded a local development site from .07 to .11, all appears okay EXCEPT, with IE7, admin superuser cannot login to user frontend unless is already logged into the admin CP and the window is still open. However, in FF everythng appears to work correctly with user front end?????

Is there something special relevant to IE7 please?

The front-end works with cookies, the back-end with sessions.
Your IE7 probably has some very restricitve settings regarding cookies.
What's the "Privacy" level of your IE7?

Many thanks for the fast reply.

Set to "Medium"

Just tested it at "Low" same result, cannot login unless already have the admin CP open and logged in.

Just tried it on "Accept all cookies" same result. Get an HTTP 403  error in the browser in all instances now.

Maybe you could set the settings to a lower level, to test if this is the cause of your problem...

On "Medium" I get instant return back to the same front page, but still not logged in.

On "Low" or "Accept all" I get the HTTP 403 error, but if I then change the browser BACK to Medium, and reload the page I am now logged in?

My browser operates with none of these characteristics on any other site, only this one that has been updated to .11

UPDATE:
After having flipped from low and back to medium, then reloaded the page it has now loaded with me logged in, however I have just tried logging out and I can now log back in correctly.

I have no idea what the problem was but it seems to have cleared itself for now and obviously had something to do with a cookie - perhaps from the previous .07 cookie being incompatible???

Thanks for your help anyway, it is appreciated.
