I would love to purchase Joomla! shirt, but I do not like to wear the bulky t-shirts.

Great suggestion, I know quite a few women would prefer these to 'normal' t-shirts.

We expect the community to have a number of ideas about what they'd like to see in the Joomla! Shop.  I created a thread above to summarize them.

Rather than multiple threads, please post your suggestions here.  Any threads regarding product suggestions will be merged here.  This thread will be pruned and summarized regularly for readability.

I am on a product branding kick... I've been shopping for really nice giveaways for an event my partner and I are sponsoring in the fall... we want something really awesome to give away at our booth.  The mugs in my 4imprint catalog are awesome (we can't afford 5,000 though...so no mugs for us)  and I drink about 10 cups of tea every day, hehehe.

The T-Shirts are a fantastic start

I would like to propose the idea of a hooded zip up shirt.  Something warm for those of us who are freezing this time of year :P

Another thought is an embroidered laptop bag or back pack.  Firefox used to have these in their shop (they might still, I haven't checked recently) and they look neat.  Good way to advertise as it's something people use daily and take places with them. 

I'd like a bag as well.

Some kind of poll (with multiple items voting option) or a subscription thread would be nice. This way Levis will have a clear overview of what you are demanding to make the orders to pmojo.

And may be the forum is not the right place to do it (what about the shop? "I would like to have..."). As we know the Joomla! community is more than this forum.

Honestly the number of people who want the product is only part of the decision, and something like that might actually work against Levis in the long run (Look how many people want a MUG! Why don't we have a MUG????)  I think if the time comes, we may have three or four choices on the next product to add, and a poll can be made then. 

Right now, votes might go to a product people would like a little bit, but may not be *the* best next choice, if a good suggestion comes up later.  And votes in these polls are limited to once per user.  I might vote for a bag, then someone says "Who wants a Joomla  hat?" and then I'm screwed out of voting for a hat.

Better to wait to see when the shop is financially able to add a product, and go with the best choices at that time.

Honestly, I don´t see it like "Hey, 150 of us want a hodded t-shirt, where are our t-shirts?", just a way to:

1) Give the chance to participate to the non forum members too.
2) Give Levis a better overview.

Another example: having this option will be "a must" if you are going to provide custom merchandise; this way, UGs, ie, could do joint purchases or select a demanded product instead of an original one, just beacuse it would make their order possible or cheaper.

But you know more than me, I am sure, keep on the nice work and let´s see what´s the future of this

Because of th eway printmojo operates i think it would be helpful to get an expression of interest of merchandise that people would want. My undertsanding is that OSM have to make an initial stock purchase (manufacturing order) with printmojo and then we (customers) place orders from that stock. So expressions of interest would be useful.

Please correctme if I have misunderstood printmojo's modus operandi

There are three ways to go (which are not mutually exclusive):

1) Wholesale: pre-purchase stock - which requires capital outlay, warehousing, stock insurance, packaging boxes and padding materials, delivery notes, address labels, delivery instruction labels, someone to do the packing, complete the recorded delivery slips, go to the Post office etc etc etc

2) Dropship: advertise the product, take the order, pass it through for fulfilment to the supplier - no capital outlay, no space, no materials, no people. You can even dropship some products with logos - you would need to pay the origination cost up front though.

3) Group purchase: wholesale prices - but you really need the money up-front

Can the shop pursue all three methods ?

Joomla! Golfing Umbrellas (cost and delivery might well be prohibitive)

That is correct Brian. Printmojo offers a wide clothing catalog but can also support other merchandise if needed. I suggest we start with what they offer before diving into other ideas.

The issues of 1) raising money for the cause 2) promoting the cause and 3) identifying with the cause are not necessarily intertwined - although of course it's great when they are.

ANYTHING that people will buy that we can make a margin on will help raise money (some of which could then be used to provide promotional goods of course so that benefit comes indirectly) - I'm guessing that raising money IS the primary but not exclusive aim - or not ?

How about a nice, black, long-sleeve, oxford style shirt?  Something business-like for when we're meeting with clients and trying to sell them a Joomla! based website.  If we're willing to wear the shirt, we must really believe in the project.

- baseball hats (nice cloth ones with the buckle back, not foam with a plastic snap)
- Bumper (Fender) Stickers / Window stickers / Sticker Sheets
- Joomla! Mouse Mats (yes some of us with optical mice still use them!)

The mouse pad idea? Put Joomla hotrod on it. Also laptop case,comp cov. Endless possabilitys can think of many more.hmm... Onto something are we?
