Post by micheas » Fri Jun 29, 2007 10:11 pm

I received the following in my inbox today.

If someone has the time and inclination this looks promising.
Tides Foundation Invites Nominations for Public Interest Computing Award

Deadline: August 1, 2007

Nominations are now open for the 2007 Antonio Pizzigati Prize for Software in the Public Interest. Administered by the Tides Foundation (http://www.tidesfoundation.org/ ), this annual  $10,000 award will honor a software developer whose work has made an outstanding contribution to the nonprofit community and ongoing efforts for social change.

Each candidate must submit a completed application. Each candidate must also be nominated by a peer within the public interest computing world or a leader in the nonprofit community who can speak to the personal qualities that contribute to that individual's leadership, as well as to the product the nominee developed.

Complete award guidelines are available at the program's Web  site.
