Just installed OpenSEF, and first I have to metion that the installarion deleted lots of files and folders in my adminfolder. Not a big issue since I just did a back up and could transfer the files through FTP. BUT, for those who has no bakup I feel sorry for if the same happends.

Well, my question is if I really need to create all URL's myself? When I click "List friendly URL's" only the URL's for virtueMart shows and it seems like I have to add all URL's. Can this be corrrect or is it something I have missed in the documentation (that I have read 10 times now).

Please help!

Thanks in advance

Hild

Installing OpenSEF shouldn't delete files from anywhere - where did you get the installation file you used? It sounds like it could be a rogue version of the file, in which case you might want to check for any other modifications to your site structure.
OpenSEF also only creates readable URLs when the link is first visited, so unless you've looked at a page, it won't have a nice URL in the admin area list. This is to prevent excessive database usage when you first install it - if it generated all URLs then, and you had a lot of pages, you could be sitting there waiting for it to finish for a very long time!

Thanks for your quick reply!

I downloaded the file from http://projects.j-prosolution.com/proje ... ensef.html , OpenSEF 2.0.0-RC5_SP2.
Should I reinstall and download from another source? Could you in that case recommend one?

So, if I understand you right, I have to create all friendly URL's manually? Isn't there any way to pick up all the original URL's so I can just modify them?

Thanks in advance!

That should be the right file.
You don't have to create any friendly URLs manually, you just have to visit the pages that you want to have friendly URLs - on first visit, the readable version is created, and will be used in future requests.
