Hello - this thread has been quiet for a while, have there been any developments?

I am looking for a Joomla module/component which allows you to enter a list of actors so you can click on the names to find out what else they have been in - pretty much the same functionality as the IMDB website but for a local amateur dramatics group.

Some of the posts suggest a module for Joomla 1.0 called Cinema which I have been unable to get to work. I also managed to find a module from JTAGS which has not been updated for a while but does give the core functionality I am looking for.

Is there anything else anyone can suggest which would give this functionality or am I missing something very obvious?

Hey I'm still interested in this... madvlad686: I tried to download the JTAG IMDb module but was unable--do you know where you downloaded it from? Maybe I can get it going again.

Has anybody come across any other solution?

I found the download using the waybackmachine.org and various searches as most of the links on current websites no longer work. In the event that you want to have a play with the download then it is available here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22039750/com_jt ... tabase.zip

This gave me the basic database structure and a means of easily adding cast/crew. I then learnt some basic php commands with some MySQL queries to get the output I wanted. The main thing for me was getting a means of easily adding data as I had lots of historic performances with cast and crew.

For anyone else embarking on an IMDB-type application you might also want to consider using JoomGallery as I was able to marry-up the show identifier with a gallery identifier so that you can easily create links from lists of cast/crew to pictures and vice-versa. If anyone wants to see the finished result then let me know.
