I am having the same problem.

The save button does not show up along with the back button ect,

The tree structure does not show up (just says loading) in the gallery section.

What is going on.

Stranger yet ... this only happens on windows machines. If I am on a linux machine (ubuntu for instance) the component works as expected.

that means it must be IE 7.0 issue. i instead ended up using gallery. (gallery.sourceforge.net) much more robust and it works on the first try. give that a shot.

No luck...

After more research it turns out to be a server issue in my case. There is some setting set or not set on the server I was on. I installed on a different host and it functioned as expected. I was unable to determine what setting on the server would cause the described issue.

I still find it strange thought that it should behave as expected from a linux machine using firefox and opera but from windows neither firefox, ie or opera worked.

I just started having this problem past few days. They only thing I changed was to remove 2 old FTP accounts one was for the developer that helped me get it all set up. Does zoom media need a ftp account to create new galleries. The ZOOM web site is down so I can't research... HELP !!! >:D

This is a know problem !!

The website and the support are always (well the last year ;)) not usable .... No responce, no bugfixes of nightbuilds, etc etc

I had this problem and this helped me:

Upgrade to latest Java (server and client)
Run zoom (admin or frontend)
Open the Java Console
Rerun the latest and after this Flush/clear the java console
Rerun Zoom in THE FRONTEND and enter admin menu

This helped me....

I really hope ZOOM stays alive because it is really a very promissing component!!!! (also for the 1.0.15 version!!!!)

Actually it was as easy as taking the "WWW" of from the address... so I just went to http://wallybeargraphics.com and it works... I guess that is another bug not sure but thank you Yasmin for the solution...

Are there other people working on this extension? Is there a forum about ZMG? other extension that hooking into ZMG?

couple of things - 1) Make sure your config file has the same address as default that your gallery is trying to get to. In other words, if your gallery admin sees your website as http://www.yoursite.com, it should be the same default site in config.php.

2) Check the support forum for zoom gallery. I know there aren't any great responses from the developer, but there are some fixes to some of these issues from other users. Unfortunately I tried many to no avail, and ended up having to unintall a lot of modules then install zoom gallery then reinstall the rest.

Unsure if this is the problem you have but this is a handy fix to have for Zoom

Zoom Media Gallery - Gallery Manager - Save Button Problem

Sometimes when you install zoom media gallery on joomla, the ’save’ button doesnt appear. I tried searching the web but without any success. Zoom Media Gallery is a great component for joomla. So I dont want to quit using it. I decided to search and rectify the problem myself. So, If you have joomla installed on your computer and your are facing the same problem with Zoom Media Gallery you can rectify and remove the problem by following the procedure given below.

1. Go to Root directory of joomla

2. Go to Directory [joomla_root]/components/com_zoom/lib

3. open inserts.class.php in your text editor.

4. comment the following line (should be at line 27)

define( “_VALID_MOS”, 1 );

5. upload edited file again.

try again using ‘Gallery Manager’ of your ‘Zoom Media Gallery’. I hope it will work. Dont Forget to write you comment. Specially If you have had the same problem and able to correct it.

Good Luck
Wayne

I use Zoom Media Gallery 2.5.1 RC4 wk08 and I have a probleme!
Setting menu has an item: "Max image size" (px and mb). Default is 640x480px. But I need pictures to be bigger then 640x480. When I removed image size limit (px), pictures on my site became so huge! I need to scroll down and right for many times to reach for the border of the page. Is there any options, to make image smaller and to save the image size?

Maybe there is an options, which can make a link like "Download full image"??? For example: I visite a page, where an image 640x480px is situated, then I click on "Download full image" and get full image (1024x768).

:( Please, answer me!

Please.., does no one have a fix for the Save New Gallery problem? I've even written the creator of zOOm with no reply. Some people say they have no problems with it but I've tried every fix suggested with no luck. Is it a server side issue? The website I've been working on for over a year can't be published without this. Anyone, please help.............

I've installed the Gallery and all the set up works fine - creating galleries, uploading photos, etc. But then I can't figure out how to make it all visible in the front end. Where do I go to select which page the gallery should appear on? I know this should be so easy, but I can't find any instructions.
Thank you!

Seeing a white page while trying to install? That's a new one.., sorry, I have no idea.

On the main topic of not seeing the Save button while trying to create a new gallery, I have come to the conclusion that it has to do with permissions. I found out some of my folders were set wrong, they had too much access to them. My main components folder was set to 777 and I believe that zOOm wasn't working because of this.

I suggest you use the "Joomla! Tools Suite : JTS-sa, HISA-sa, JTS-post" tool. This will look over your entire installation and give feedback on problems. You can find it here:

http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/

After I got all my permissions properly set, zOOm allowed me to save galleries. Unfortunately zOOm was still incredibly buggie and I finally uninstalled it and went with RSGallery. It may not have as many bells & whistles, but it's stable.

I got the same problem with the tree structure does not show up (just says loading) and the SAVE button do not show up.
Before upgrading to the latest 2.5.2 RC4 wk08 the tree menu and save worked great, so this is frustrating.

I did all the mentioned tips above without any luck.

I used the ZMG for several years and got a huge gallery with thousands of pictures.
I really need to find the solution for this, and was hoping someone found the solution?

Please let me know.

Best regards
Frank

Check ICE gallery, this is a zoom fork and you are able to migrate without a problem (i did it, 200+ gallery's and over 5000 pics).

All the problem with ZOOM (save button, gallery list, drag and drop, etc etc ) are solved in this version!!!

Check it :)

Thanks rikoos..I will check it out.
You got a link to download, and how to install?
Do I have to uninstall the zOOm component and will the Ice then collect all the pics in the database?

i believe it could be found at joomlacode/gf/project/ice/frs.

Just install this and your zoom config will be migrated (just check the site, i believe bij default it can run both).

All your "Old" pics will be saved and present inside the new ice gallery :)

i have this now running on a 1.0.15 and 1.5.7 joomla site.

Good luck!

Just a couple of questions.
Is this all german language and will be in frontend as well?
Is there a english (or better) Norwegian language file?

I will try this late tonight and keep my finger crossed
