Hi-

I am running Joomla! 1.0.13 and have installed JA Submit 2.1.  I have it configured and linked, but I am running into a bug when I try to submit images.  If I submit just text, the submission works perfectly, but the minute I add an image, and try to post I am taken to white screen and the browser says it's done loading.  The submission also does not get recorded.
I have tried a number of things to try to get this working, including:
1) No editor and JCE and TInyMCE
2) Auto image reslzing and no image resizing
3) setting image file slze larger
4) Uploading tiny images
5) Uploading images that match the file dimensions exactly
6) Using the MOS image tag
7) Changing permission for users

I really need this aspect of the tool to work. Anyone have any ideas?

Best,
Scott

Hi,

I'm very happy with this plug-in... and in fact, the problem comes from joomla itself. Though... since the matter is linked to JA submit... I submit

I use JA submit in order to have a better control over the work of my authors...
( that's why in some future release I wish for a better granularity in the settings : for each groups or users ... )

The problem comes from the old submitting system which display to my authors a nice link to index.php?option=com_content&task=new at the bottom of every "blog-types" pages and so provides a pointless shunt to the nice JA submit

So, how could I dis-able my authors to write but via the JA sumbit component

I am unable to get JA Submit from the Joomlart site.  It said the program was free so I created a new user account and tried to download it and it now says its for paid members only!  Is there somewhere else to download this program?

Yes, I also have a four language site and need it to work with JoomFish! Is it even possible or should I look elsewhere for a good "submit solution"  ???

There is a solution with Joomfish, if you have the right language file in
.../components/com_ja_submit/language/

Edit the file
.../components/com_ja_submit/ja_submit.php

Change
Code:
# Get the language
if ( file_exists($mosConfig_absolute_path.'/components/com_ja_submit/language/'.$H_language) ) {
   require($mosConfig_absolute_path.'/components/com_ja_submit/language/'.$H_language);   } else {
   require($mosConfig_absolute_path.'/components/com_ja_submit/language/default.php');
}

to
Code:
# Get the language
    if (file_exists($mosConfig_absolute_path.'/components/com_ja_submit/language/'.$mosConfig_lang.'.php')) {
      include($mosConfig_absolute_path.'/components/com_ja_submit/language/'.$mosConfig_lang.'.php');
    } else {
      include($mosConfig_absolute_path.'/components/com_ja_submit/language/english.php');
    }

Hi

JA Submit has a bug.

Open this file:

components/com_ja_submit/ja_submit.html.php

Find this line of code:

submitform(pressbutton);

Replace it with the following

submitform(pressbutton);

hope this helps someone...

Thanks for the new coding. Can you please confirm just where we have to change the code? That line appears twice in that page.
Code:
      function submitbutton(pressbutton){
         var form = document.adminForm;

         if (pressbutton == 'cancel'){
            submitform( pressbutton );
            return;
         }
         // var goodexit=false;
         // assemble the images back into one field
         form.goodexit.value=1;
         // do field validation
         if ( form.catid.value == "NA" ) {
            alert ( "<?php echo _H_CHOOSE_CAT; ?>" );
         }
         else if ( form.created_by_alias.value == "" ) {
            alert ( "<?php echo _H_ENTER_NAME; ?>" );
         }
         else if ( ( form.email.value == "" ) || ( form.email.value.search("@") == -1 ) || ( form.email.value.search("[.*]" ) == -1 ) ) {
            alert ( "<?php echo _H_ENTER_EMAIL; ?>" );
         }
         else if ( form.title.value == "" ) {
            alert ( "<?php echo _H_ENTER_TITLE; ?>" );
         }
         else {
            submitform(pressbutton);
         }
      }
And has this problem been corrected in the latest release?

Hi

This is for version 2.1 which was the newest version I could find on the Joomla Art website.
http://www.joomlart.com/downloads/cat/f ... sions.html
But it is dated 2006 so perhaps there is a newer one?

I have copied the code below with changes made:

Code:
      function submitbutton(pressbutton){
         var form = document.adminForm;

         if (pressbutton == 'cancel'){
            submitform( pressbutton );
            return;
         }
         // var goodexit=false;
         // assemble the images back into one field
         form.goodexit.value=1;
         // do field validation
         if ( form.catid.value == "NA" ) {
            alert ( "<?php echo _H_CHOOSE_CAT; ?>" );
         }
         else if ( form.created_by_alias.value == "" ) {
            alert ( "<?php echo _H_ENTER_NAME; ?>" );
         }
         else if ( ( form.email.value == "" ) || ( form.email.value.search("@") == -1 ) || ( form.email.value.search("[.*]" ) == -1 ) ) {
            alert ( "<?php echo _H_ENTER_EMAIL; ?>" );
         }
         else if ( form.title.value == "" ) {
            alert ( "<?php echo _H_ENTER_TITLE; ?>" );
         }
         else {

            <?php getEditorContents( 'editor1', 'introtext' ) ; ?>
            <?php getEditorContents( 'editor2', 'fulltext' ) ; ?>
            submitform(pressbutton);

         }
      }

Is this component still supported by the author? I made some changes in the past, but I'd like to know if there is newer version for this component.

Use JCE and its ImageManager!

You have to take a look at the bottom of the download-page. There is a free-access link.

I have 2 major questions about Ja Submit. Here is my link: http://test.beringertame.com/index.php? ... &Itemid=49

1. How can I get rid of the category dropdown menu, since I have only one option there... Is there a way to precode that category in the ja submit files?

2. How can I change the code so that I can freely navigate out this page without getting any messages like: "please either cancel or save the current change"?

would greatly appreciate your help!!!

thanks

Hi, I used JA Submit for a long time with no problem. But recently, when I tried to display an error message with this code:
Code:
if ($m_category =="NA")
     mosRedirect("index.php?option=com_ja_submit",_H_CHOOSE_CAT );

It worked but the message I got is something like this:
Code:
Please+choose+a+category

How can I replace these "+" by space character " "? I use joomla 1.0.12 with ja_submit v2.1
By the way, I mentioned that when I replaced "index.php" with "index2.php", the message displayed properly (but it just displayed ja_submit component with no template used)

Not very helpful! If you read my question above, it shouts "How to set a default?". I know what I want but I just don't know how to do it!

And hiding the drop-down-menu via CSS? Sounds foolish to me... Any further suggestions?

Well sens you only want to have one category and the form needs the cat the most basic and easies way would be to hide it...

Why don't you try .jp Submissionary and see if that works for you...

I get your point, it would be an option. But without setting a defauolt category, I wont get far with this.

However, thanks for helping,

I have yet to see a JA extension that works well. Their templates are very good, but the extensions are not. It's too bad, because many of them are very good in concept and rather unique.

There are a couple of alternative improved forms of JA Submit.

Try Ninja Super Submit:
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/

Greetings!

Is there a way to make this component work with joomla 1.5?
Seems botht JA submit & Ninja Submit are for 1.0x only, and I
can 't find any suitable substitutions.

I'm using 1.5.3 and would like to disable the following features
on the front-end submission form:

Start Publishing/Finish publishing
Access Level
Ordering

Alsa desirable would be a simple image upload like the 2 components above.

Is there perhaps a known hack to make this work? Please enlighten me.

Many Thanks!
